What the same trip costs, country by country
The same week costs roughly three times as much in Switzerland as in Bulgaria. If your route is flexible, that gap is the single biggest lever you have on the budget.

Where these numbers come from, and what they are not
Every figure is derived from Eurostat's price level index for restaurants and hotels, reference year 2024, where the EU27 average is 100. The tool does one piece of arithmetic: it scales the number you entered by the ratio between two countries' published indices. Nothing on this page is our own estimate.
What it cannot tell you. This is an economy-wide price level, not a tourist basket. Capital cities and tourist districts run above their national average, sometimes well above. High season and low season can differ more than two countries do. Flights are not included, and they often decide the total. Treat the ranking as reliable and the exact figures as a starting point.
